Overview

Social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram use algorithms to personalize content and influence what users see online. Teenagers interact with these systems every day, but often do not understand how these algorithms work or how they shape their behavior, emotions, and online experiences.

The goal of this project was to design an interactive experience that helps teenagers understand algorithmic influence in a simple, engaging, and playful way.

Through research, co-creation workshops with teenagers, and iterative prototyping, the concept What If was developed. The result is a hybrid educational game that combines digital interaction, physical cards, and role-play scenarios to make invisible algorithmic systems tangible and understandable.

The project explores how playful design, guided reflection, and user participation can help translate complex technological concepts into meaningful learning experiences for young audiences
